Who we are
The District Council of Coober Pedy have decided that with our landfills reaching its limits, it’ll be best to implement other methods to manage the waste in our city. We then decided on this lottery model instead of increasing the size of the landfill to reduce the amount of trash that’ll end up on the streets of out beautiful city. Our incentives will also give back to the community.
We take the separated recycling materials and compact them into bales. Once the storage is full, the bales are sent to Adelaide to be further processed there. We have reached an agreement with the Adelaide Recycling Center and will be receiving funds for our baled trash. A large amount of this fund will be allocated towards the prizes you can win.
Every single month, there will be 5 winners drawn. Prizes can range from electronics to utility cuts. Depending on the success of the first half of the year, there may be more winners and prizes of larger scale.
